Our Firm
Jasper van der Westhuizen founded the firm in 1980 with a vision for the future. He was a young businessman and attorney with the hope and intention of providing sound legal advice and services to the public. With hard work and a great legal mind he managed to ensure that the firm not only excelled at client services and making a difference in the legal field, but also providing a platform for young attorneys to learn what the meaning of ethical and sound legal practice and business is.
During the last 38 years Jasper van der Westhuizen was joined and partnered with great Legal and business minds and the firm has produced several practitioners (i.e Rudi Bodenstein - previous partner at JWB and now living and working in Europe; Flip Prinsloo - previous partner at JWB and now the co-owner of a Law Firm in Pretoria; Gwendoline Moolman - co-owner of a Law Firm in Pretoria).
Client satisfaction is of utmost importance to the firm whether we are rendering services to business entities such as Sasol Mining Proprietary Limited or individual clients. Our various legal expertise and commitment to delivering quality services enable us to render exceptional assistance to a diverse client base.

Jasper van der Westhuizen
Attorney, Notary and Conveyancer - Director
Jasper Van der Westhuizen founded the firm in 1980 and has since provided the community with efficient, professional and sound legal advice for the past 38 years. His work ethic and great legal mind ensures that the firm maintains a high standard of client satisfaction whilst providing a platform for young attorneys to experience ethical and precise legal practice. He is also a conveyancer and notary. He specializes in contract & commercial law, conveyancing, notarial services and civil litigation (which includes family law, general litigation and commercial litigation).

Byron Veldman
Attorney and Conveyancer - Director
Byron Veldman joined the firm in 2011 as candidate attorney. His commitment and drive ensured his appointment as an admitted attorney on a permanent basis during 2013. In September 2013 he was admitted as a Conveyancer. On 1 March 2017, he was appointed as a director and became the majority shareholder of the firm.
He specializes in conveyancing, contracts, deceased estates and civil litigation (which includes third party claims, personal injury claims and general litigation)

Karien Van der Westhuizen
Attorney, Conveyancer & Liquidator - Director
Karien Van der Westhuizen joined our team on the 1st of April 2018. She is a qualified attorney, conveyancer, and liquidator. She is also on the national panel of the Master of the High Court as a trustee and liquidator. With over 15years experience in the legal industry and her exceptional drive and motivation, we are excited about the contribution she will make towards the continuing success of our firm.
She specializes in foreclosures, liquidations, insolvency transfers, estates, and conveyancing.

Staff Development
During the years the company has strived to improve the lives of its employees and clients alike. Above and beyond the pro bono work that the firm has done over the years, we have also employed personnel who wanted to develop their knowledge and qualifications.
• The firm assisted Mr. Frans Mpedi, the messenger of the firm, during 1992, to enroll for his law degree, complete his articles of clerkship and be admitted as an Attorney and Conveyancer. Mr. Mpedi practiced as such at the firm until 2004, when he left and later formed his own Law firm.
• This was also the case with Mr. Caleb Modisa who was first employed as a candidate attorney at our firm, was later admitted as an attorney and joined the litigation department for several years, before opening his own law firm.
• Our Mrs. Paulina Mapoga, who was first employed as a cleaner, is now a well-established Conveyancing secretary with a diploma in Conveyancing.
• Ms.Emily Ntuli, who was first employed as a messenger is now a commercial, litigation and conveyancing secretary.
